**By Popular Demand It’s Back!!!

Before my love for jazz, new age, ambient, downtempo music I grew up listening to Rock(Aerosmith, Queen, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top), R&B(Parliament/Funkadelic, Ohio Players, Con-Funk Shun, Lakeside, WAR), some country, little Blues(that was my mother’s department). This edition has mostly Rock and R&B because I have always paid attention to the “musicians” more so than the vocalist. What’s really cool about this for myself is now I can record as many of these types of podcast and not worrying about being talked about (plus the fact now that I’m 6’4″ and weighing about 285 I have no problems with this now). For me, music has always been universal because it amazes me how people can put this notes together, play them and have cool music produced.

ZZ Top has always been one of my favorite groups because it’s only 3 members and the drummer name is Frank Beard(and he’s the only in the group that does not have a beard). Areosmith was another group that I grew up listening to and my first Areosmith LP was “Rocks“(which I have to get again because “Sick As A Dog” is my favorite tune on this LP and this was the first time I heard of a six-string bass guitar). I put in Kelis because (1) I love the tune and (2) she is a cutie pie. ^_^

(Don’t Fear) The Reaper is a great sounding tune but lets be honest…promoting sucide…umm, that’s not good.(but I still like the tune…does that make me sick?). “Whip It” and “Pearl Necklace“…I will leave that up to your imagination. When first hearing the tune “Cars” by Gary Numan…that let me know it was cool to be a geek. The track Aqua Boogie is one of my favorite tracks because of the keyboard work of Bernie Worrell and let’s face it…George Clinton is a genius when it comes to r&b/electronic/dance tunes.

Most of these tracks are from the 80’s and one or two tracks from the 90’s.

Shout outs to Me-saj and Jason over at The Half Show, tgrundy over at RIBS, Macedonia over at Radio Bsots, Suni T, Fave, Nikki, dj diva, Todd Kelley, Anjibee, TVTechGrl, Doug (Cool Breeze) Fresh, Anewlis, HotFish, luvsels, Jennifer(NY), Jennifer(CO), Lauren&Shawn(you guys are so cool), GrantLOVE, Norvell(the Jazz Suite), Lo(4President), Clarence, Ms Genevieve my geek brothers, Eddie, Javier(JC), mr. grumpyhead himself…Luis. Robert Holiday and anyone else I fool hardly forget

tracks that will have you
bangin’ your head or boppin’
up and down.

**Well in my head it’s popular at least

This podcast has more vocal tracks than my usual/laid back episodes but I wanted a more surreal feel to this one. With all of my down tempo shows I want the listener to feel relaxed, not think about what they have had to go through the past days or past week. I am so blessed for the fact that I can now put tracks together that many would not think of doing and give me my twist on it. Whenever I used to make mix tapes for myself I always imagined putting it together as if it was a soundtrack and now I am blessed to put it out for the masses to check out.

Big SHOUT OUTS to Nikki, Anewlis for not only producing wonderful podcasts but now these beautiful, talented sistas has moved their craft over to their own sites. These two are making headway in the podcasting community and making all of us step up our game…but in a very positive way. Another shout out to Me-Saj and Jason for posting my phone call and Macedonia’s phone call on the web from their podcast(project 059), “The Half Show“. This husband/wife duo have a very cool, fun, and entertaining show and to mentioned by Jason was really cool (and yes, I would love to be on your(me-saj & jason’s) show. ^_^

I hope this podcast relaxes you and takes you to another place because for me, music has always transcended to another place and time at the right time.

here it is close to 3am and I’m recording ANOTHER podcast(this is what I get for falling asleep at 8pm…but it’s all good). I guess this is a blessing because I will be very busy starting this upcoming Monday until December because of working my jobs and school so it’s best I try and get as many podcasts under my belt. I love relaxing music because it makes me reflect, count my blessings, and appreciate that God has giving me the gift and drive to put these podcasts together.

Kick back and enjoy this 3rd installment of MyLoveForMusic:Twilight Volume 3.

shout outs to all of the podcasters that inspire me, push me to do my best so I can bring some of the best laid back music to the masses and to let you(the listeners) know that good music is still being made…you just have to seek it out, you will not be disappointed.

I have been away for a little over a month but it seems like a lifetime. The month of June was a trying time for me but a very humbling time…a time for reflection, a time for getting my act together in reference to my priorities and I thank God for his mercy, his grace, my beautiful wife and big shout out to my brother Doug Fresh for his encouraging words. It’s good to be able to put together these music selection for it gets me back to my roots when it comes to my podcast. I hope you enjoy the tracks I bring you.

I see I’m finding myself floating toward laid back tunes more and more. Well that’s a lie, I have always enjoyed laid back tunes. I smooth jazz, downtempo cuts takes me back to when I first moved back over here in Missouri, where I finally could be myself, rediscover me and what I loved about me.

This is my second set of collections of smooth jazz, laid back vocals, new age tunes that whenever I hear them I just want to just sit back, reflect and just me. I hope you enjoy the compositions I have found. Some from my library and others that are new to me as well.

What’s going on people? Seems like I have been away for about 2 months but it’s only been 2 weeks. I had my last class for the spring and now it’s time for me to just relax (just for a minute at least). It’s amazing how sometimes you lose your way in reference to who you are, and why do one begin projects in the first place.

This past week I have begun listening to my past podcast shows to see how I have improved, what can I do better, what to change, what to leave alone and I have come to the conclusion that the reason why I began this music internet show was to share my different taste in music. It’s funny how growing up I knew sometime down the road I would be able to share the music I enjoyed in the order I wanted, I didn’t know how this was going to happen but I knew this is what I wanted to do. My very first podcast really reflected that but by the time I recorded “MyLoveForMusic: 19 April episode” I think I allowed myself to slip on that recording but I think when I recorded “MyLoveForMusicExtra:Twilight” I redeemed myself.

This episode is just me “relaxing” and getting my feel again in this wonderful world of podcasting. I have to give a big shout out to Fave, Macedonia, Doug Fresh for making me realize that the best way to put out great shows is to sometimes review your work, don’t take yourself too serious, and most important, always, ALWAYS be true to yourself.

Man I haven’t brought a ThriftStoreGems to the masses in a minute but this one is kind of special for me. While I was converting these it brought me back to the time when I worked at a store called The Nature Company back in the late 80s. What was so cool about this store was that this was a store that was like a dream come true for a grown up. The artists I will be showcasing will be acoustic guitarist Govi, new age/electronic group Tangerine Dream, and folk/pop artist James Taylor.

These 3 cassettes LPs I converted makes me think of a time when began the road of truly seeing myself as my Creator sees me. I met and worked with cool people, worked in a place where being surrounded by nice music, astronomy, nature, learning about rocks and minerals…it was like heaven. I have to admit I screwed up the job because I wore my emotions on my sleeves when it came to my manager/boss and in the end it was my undoing. But the time I was there I learned that it was truly cool to like science and nature and working in that type of environment I met people that conversation was warm, informing, challenging, and made you seek to do better with your life.

Cassette LP that will be showcases will be…

The cool thing about not having a format you can play and listen to anything you wish. But as my favorite detective Adrian Monk says, “it’s a blessing…and a curse”. When having a little bit of every type of music in your line up you get a little bit of everyone and it may take you little longer to build a following. I’m looking at my podcast now as a conduit for music to let people know it’s cool to listen to The Carpenters and Sound Garden in one whop.

When it comes to me picking music it’s no formula I go by in most cases. Sometimes I may put together a podcast by lyrics, or by certain musicians that stand out to me at the time but for most of the time what ever composition pops in my head and if it blends together in my mind I put it together.

A BIG welcome to my brother in podcasting Fave. Last Friday he came back with a great podcasts[the return] & [throwback] and I know I speak for many of my brothers and sisters in podcasting that this cat has made us all step our game up when it comes to putting together a show.

Another podcast that stood out to me this week is from Nikki’s Soulrific episode #3. This music takes me back when I used to sit in the barber shop, listening to everyone shoot the breeze while laid back, smooth soul, Jazz, R&B music play in the background.

DJ Diva put together a on point podcast with music of Frankie Beverly & Maze. Whenever I hear Maze feat. Frankie Beverly reminds me of all of the Budweiser Superfest this group has hosted over the years. I remember seeing him in concert back in the 90s at the Superdome in New Orleans.

Man it has felt like a lifetime since recording MyLoveForMusic but it really hasn’t. This episode I have to admit is a little more up tempo than I usually record but I guess with the weather we may need to move around a little I guess. I try and be diverse because it’s cool to come across different music. I have decided to begin to try and bring them under an hour because I think that is longer enough for a podcast and also many people still do not have mp3 players and if they wish to burn the netcast to a CD they can.

Big, BIG shout out again to Todd Grundy, Anewlis for coming up with the concept of “Cupid’s Hunt” and it was really cool for many of the netcasters to come together and to be able to hear the different styles of music was really awesome.

I hope you enjoy the selection of music this weekend and as always…

This I think is going to be a pretty cool netcast that feature artists that whenever I hear their music gives me that “warm and fuzzy” feeling inside. I am so glad I took the time to convert these cassettes and I hope you think so too.

For me Kenny Loggins is known more than just his songs from Top Gun, Caddy Shack. I was really blessed to find a cassette LP of his called “Love Songs of Kenny Loggins” He had songs on there that just blew me away so I am so glad I held on to this cassette and was able to convert it. I have looked all over the web for this on CD but can not find it. Thank goodness for the technology to digitize this.

When I first heard Special EFX I was a stocker at Ann Taylor(I feel as if I have told this story before…oh well) the the first track I ever heard from this duo was, “The Flow” and what captured my ear was the bird whistle in the song. So when I had an opportunity to grab their cassette LP “The Slice of Life” I jumped at it. Till then I have bought several of their LP and again while in a discount store I came across “Double Feature” and was blown away by each track on the LP. The smart guitar playing by Chieli Minucci and the strong percussion playing by the late George Jinda hooked me from day one.

I got my first wind of David Lanz when I was a night janitor cleaning Target stores and I came across a compilation cassette LP by Narada artists and later on that year I began working for The Nature Company where I came across the collaboration of David Lanz and Paul Speer. The cassette LP Natural States. I think the Discovery Channel has converted The Nature Company stores but it’s just not the same. One good thing is that I was able to learn about the artists from the Narada label.

Back in the 80s Level 42‘s song, “Something About You” was all over MTV(back when MTV was MTV…Music Television). It was something about this song that made me go to Streetside Records and buy this cassette LP “World Machine”. Once I got the LP home was hooked on the vocal and bass playing of Mark King and the vocals of Mike Lindup. Their sounds takes me back to Summer evenings being with your close friends are the one you love. Since then I have two other cassette LPs by Level 42 tracks on this netcast are from the Standing In Light.

Kick back, relax and let me take you to another place with these tracks.
